The term Het can be used with co-dom and recessive - it just means that the snakes genotype consists of two different genes and has nothing to do with the phenotype (look) of the snake. A YB is a het because it carries both the ivory gene and the normal gene - just as a het albino carries the albino gene and a normal gene.
