Posted by: reticguy76 at Fri Jun 12 20:32:12 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by reticguy76 ] there can be some variables when probing. meaning, ive probed females as little as 3 caudal scales, and have probed males as much as 7 caudal scales. although, not very many i have probed like that, those are for sure the exception, not a rule. also, another variable is probe size. you (or the one probing), have to make sure you are using proper guage or size probe. if you use too small of a probe, you can go in pretty far, and mis-sex a male for female. the opposite can potentially happen with too big of probe mis-sexing a female for male.
