On June 10, 1999 my wife and I left our home in middle Tennessee to move to the top of the world, Fairbanks, Alaska. I had prearranged to visit Bob's facility in Oklahoma City as we drove through and upon our arrival on June 12, he greeted us at the door, saying, "You hit it on the right day. The albinos are hatching." He ushered us to the incubator and we were second only to him to see the first ever clutch of albino reticulated pythons hatching.

He was kind enough to give us a tour of his facility, allowing us to videotape the hatching neonates and to hold the original albinos sire. Shortly thereafter, Steve Gooch arrived and took the photo of the three of us with the super tiger. After a short visit in the parking lot Steve and Bob pointed me north and gave me directions back to the interstate.

It's hard to believe that 10 years have passed since that day. We are still living in the far north and I now have a granddaughter of the original sire, Lydia, a purple phase who is seven years old this month and close to 17 feet.
