Yes, you’re right he wasn’t quite yet ready to come out of the egg. However I decided to pull it out since the egg was starting to smell a bit sour. I’m not to sure how much the light one will color up. It’s color was white as a egg still to this morning, and they’ve been out several days now. I’ll post after shed pics once they all shed.

As for that luggage……….I know you all are thinking it’s the yolk dragging. But it’s not the yolk. The lighter bee has almost absorbed all of it’s yolk and is about to drop the umbilical. That luggage you see is some sort of sack, maybe another undeveloped embryo? I have another clutch that hatched out and out of 7 eggs, 3 of them had this luggage so to say. I have not seen this before in previous clutches. But what I do know is that both clutches came for the same father (pastel) Maybe it’s something with him?

My previous clutch that had the extra luggage those babies also absorbed all their yolk, left the egg and that sac in the egg. Those babies already had two feedings, most of them.

Someone else on here posted that they too had an egg with a sac in it. I think it was Greg Graziani, not to sure though who it was.

I’m curious to know more about this so called “extra luggage”
