I give my rats broccoli and squash and the love it i have also given them banana chips but fresh ones not the kind you get at the store (because they have extra sugar added)As for the females mine usually a day or two before birth they look like they are ready to explode. However first time moms dont seem to get that look. mine always seem to have a slightly smaller litter thier 1st time between 7 and 10 babies. Hope this helps
