If I were in that situation I would either take it to a herp vet or wildlife rehabber to let them do a proper check, or I would take it back to the area where it was found and put it back in some shade.

A pro will determine whether or not it is seriously injured. If not, let nature take its course.

Unless you're qualified or prepared to pay for/relinquish the care for it, you should probably let it go.
