Is it alright to use "used" egg crates (racks)?

I read in a previous thread of posts that some people use used egg racks. I would prefer not to do this but it would be much easier if it would be alright. Would it be okay to use used egg racks even when they have stains from busted eggs? I would really like to hear about what you guys think.
