Their propensity to nest in hollow trees appears to be a further adaptation to temp conservation. GTP's also seem to have a lower average maternal incubation temp than most other pythons. You are correct in that the ability of the eggs in these species to tolerate the wide swings in temp are an adaptation to the limited thermoregulatory capabilities of these species. | ||
