A: They're supposed to be soft. Ball pythons eggs are leathery, not like chicken eggs, so no worries.
B: Sometimes you will see the snake, sometimes you will see a big blackish mass in the bottom of the egg. That's the snake. I lucked out and knew one of my snakes was a pastel before it hatched because it pressed it's pattern up against the egg shell for me. Haha.
