only way to know for sure why your snake died is to get a necropsy done. There are many reasons why it could have died, from genetic defect, toxic fumes that overpowered it, (not sure if its near other snakes or kept in different room etc.) or could be from cleaning but not letting it air dry enough. Bad internal or external parasite load....disease etc. It may have even tried to escape and got stuck or injured itself then died before you realized it was in trouble.

There are other possibilities too but most are not apparent without having a detailed husbandry and history of the snake from the time you bought it to the time you found it dead.
