owning both retics and boas for a long time now, i am all for having to purchase tags or licenses for owning these massive and powerful animals. i would gladly pay a licensing fee for any of my animals as well as future ones that i would like to obtain. if there were more restrictions on these animals (as well as other animals out there), maybe the idiots would think twice about getting one (or more) of these to be cool, then something very tragic like this (and other tragedies), maybe would be cut down dramatically. so many sellers of these animals want to make the almighty buck and will sell to anybody willing to pay for an animal of theirs. there should be more a more rigerous application process in order to obtain these great but very powerful animals. i have many, many times refused people purchasing after questioning them and their habbits and plans for retics being purchased (or traded) from me. which is a huge reason, i keep such a small amount of breeders on hand generally at one time, so i am not overrun with clutches and have to hurry and sell them all as quick as possible. just my 2 cents. all in all, its a tragic incident that, so easily, could have been avoided. unfortunately, its like the kid drowning epidemic we see every single summer here in arizona. so tragic, but so easily avoidable
