hey guys. glad to see everyone's pairings and projects going well. Well first off, i have always kept boas as pets since i was really young, and now that a lot of them are of breeding age, I am giving it a shot. I have 1.2 Peruvians. an 03 DM exotics female, an 05 unknown female, and an 05 unknown male. i started cooling them a few weeks ago with 85 during the day and 80 at night. i introduced the male to the 03 female a few weeks ago and he was not interested in her, no courting or nothing. so i took him out, fed him a small meal and put him back in a week later. still no courting. so i introduced a young male Suriname into the picture. it worked. now i have my male courting the female. my question is this, what makes the female let him actually copulate with her? i see his spurs scraping her, and he's switching from one side to the other. but it just doesn't seem like she wants to let him in. i keep the tank covered and just peek in with a flashlight to check and see if there is any penetration. he has only been courting her for about 3 days now. but i have read about boas copulating within minutes of introduction. id love nothing more than to have a litter, post pics and talk, and be hanging out with you guys at shows up and down the east coast. just a few tips on how to get them to copulate and how long to leave him in there for. any feedback is appreciated. thanks!
