Posted by: emysbreeder at Thu Jul 2 15:10:07 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by emysbreeder ] Maybe not a documented record.There has been "reports" of 80 and even a hundred".I will try to find out.You may want to formally document it.Maybe someone from the AZA will chime in..Manouria (BLACK MT.TORTOISE) is known to lay the most eggs at one time for land tortoise.It would most likely come from a female of over 75 pounds,which is a size known to occure for phayrei.The Mt.tortoise is also the only land tortoise to build above ground nest.A tiny prehistoric beast will brake through in 64-75 days or so.
