Well, this may not be very helpful, but my first "don't" would be, don't make it so small. That's not enough room to safely work with hots.

If you've got easily movable cages, keeping them there and taking cages out into the garage to handle the snakes might work. But then how secure is your garage if something gets loose?

If you're not keeping hots (or pythons) and just asked here, this might not be an issue.
