RE: Time for Male Female rat breeding

I am not communal breeding and I do not have the luxury of having a bunch of male breeders. Do you think if I keep a male in for one week my female will get pregnant? I will learn in time I guess but I hate missing a cycle and litter because of my rotation sequence.
