The founder female was just over 7ft long so it does not surprise me a bit. I am generally too cheap to feed that much so I have not witnessed that kind of growth but no doubt this lineage does have the genetics to get massive!
Great looking snake even if not super red. I always feel a bit guilty when I see pics of Kingsville reds that are not super red. I have line bred them to the point that I think most of the offspring I produce grow up to get quite red (flowerpot red). I know that KJ has been perfecting the red bull lines as well -both mine (Kingsville TX locality) and the Crumbly non-locality lines- with some good results.
I held back a Kingsville red male last year that is about as red as any I have ever seen and he has the added beauty of really contrasty dark saddles which kingsville locality tends to lack. I am really looking forward to growing him up and breeding him.
Note the not so red male and somewhat red female with low contrast saddles shown below. These two are F3 snakes. I currently breed that female to one of her really red offspring and they come out of the egg looking great.
