Posted by: mykee at Sat Jul 25 12:04:42 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by mykee ] I also find it rather interesting that principle or not, these breeders have made themselves so "public" for lack of a better word and such an integral part of the community when the money was huge, and people were still spending tens of thousands on a single morph, but now that the prices have come down, these large breeders who were in this for the "love of reptiles since I was a child" have only proven that it was all only ever about the money and the "community" or "principle" was a very distant afterthought. You would think that these breeders, having made a gigantic amount of money OFF of these animals over the years, would take a thousandth of a percent of that profit and (maybe even taking a hit) to show they still give a crap about anything but the almighty dollar. So far, very few have stood up to be counted. Very disappointing and very eye-opening. That said, huge props go out to people like BHB and many like him for stepping up during the "rough times" and continuing to schlepp it out at shows even if they're not gonna make a million for a few days work. Kudos fellas. [ Hide Replies ]
