humidity too high

I am housing a 7 months old spotted python in a sterilite tub about the size of a 20 gallon. I switched from using aspen shaving over to newspaper bedding as a way to make it easier for me to clean. First off the temperature gradient is MUCH better now. but the humidity (i live in Louisiana) is FAR too high. in fact the entire side of the tub is covered in water and i the newspaper is soaking wet!!

i drilled lots more holes in the top to hopefully increase airflow, but what other ways can i lower the humidity? Also, what are the negative health effects of having the humidity too high?
