If an import ban on Burms were to go through, then that would also mean that no new bloodlines or lineages could be imported/or introduced. I realize this is looking WAY down the road, but I would suspect that their lineages would eventually become in bred if no new ones were permitted to come in. This is sort of an analogy, but look at what happens to populations of animals, plants, or whatever else that are confined to an island in the middle of the ocean for example who can't immigrate or emmigrate. Having studied population ecology, The result would not a good thing.
I don't have any Burms in my colelction right now, but I consider fresh and unrelated lineages in the other animals I have to be an important factor and consideration when I do breed them.
