The lacrimal duct drains the normal fluid from between the spectacle and the cornea. The duct drains into the roof of the mouth. Blockages can occur from infection or physical trauma to the mouth. The result is a lack of drainage from behind the spectacle causing the eye to bulge out as pictured. Surgical intervention is frequently required. | ||
