I see what your saying. But, look at it this way. I used to have 600 lb siberian tiger that walked on a leash and did photos and magazine and stuff. Know would it be the responsible thing to do and walk him down the street of the local residential area?
Remember as well most people are poor judges of size, and to many an 8' snake looks more like a monster then we could ever imagine. There is always going to be those "WOW FACTOR" owners. There were tons in the exotic animal trade and I saw them alot with the reptiles. The goofballs that wanted the retic or burm or the gator to just show off and never once intended to learn and damn thing about the animal now under their care.
