To the people that say the snakes are the problem:

I can't believe what I've been reading... You would not have as popular of a hobby as you do, without burms and the several other ALL TIME most popular herp pets. If legislation is allowed to pass, and they take away the right to import and export Burmese pythons, these people will word such an article so that it can be ammended whenever they wish. If it does pass at any level, it will no longer need to be presented before the committee. They will just get a majority vote and add it. The members of the genus Python will be the first to go, because they are in the same family. They WILL NOT STOP with burmese. They will then take retics, then rocks, and probably anything over 6ft long. These people are relentless and some of you don't get that. They are not going to just take away our right to import and export P. m. bivittatus......that is just where it will start. They don't care what it does to shops and businesses and breeders.

I know times are hard but, there should really be some standard we hold ourselves to when it comes to selling a large constrictor. Should it be age? a permit? a test?

It is 100% irresponsible owners who are to blame for all the recent events in the media spotlight. Weather they should have never purchased an animal that gets so large.

Snakes are some of the most perfectly designed killing machines and escape artists this world has ever known. Why do we fault the snake for doing what it is designed to do so well? We are more advanced, we have thumbs, we as a community should be able to keep our pets contained.

END
