Finished my calls. Most everyone was pleasant to deal with. I have been sending e-mails (edited versions of the USARK letter since I am not a Florida voter) on a daily basis since Friday. I even sent an e-mail to the Missouri Representatives (my home state) in case the bill should make it to the main floor. So here's hoping all goes well for us!!

I do have (as the title of this post states) one critique of the anti HR2811 posts I've been reading. A lot of them read "...ban ALL Pythons!!!" or some version of it. The capital all leads me to belive that this legislation is wanting to ban all pythons. However, to my understanding (and I've read it several times, but if I'm not seeing something please re-inform me) it seeks to ban the GENUS Python which includes Angolans, Bloods, Ball, Reticulated, Indian (Bermese is a subspecies), Rock, and I think one or two others I can't think of at the moment. Therefore there are many species of pythons that are not on the chopping block (for example Black Heads, Womas, Carpets, Spotted, Childrens, and even Anacondas). I only mention this because we as a group generally proclaim the opposition to hype stories involving snakes (which they do). I hate to see us stooping to their level (intentional or not). Just my two cents.

Make your calls and send your e-mails!!

Regards,
Dan
