Some people supply a photo ID and written gurantee that the snake is what it is supposed to be (ie; Het for Pied, Clown, etc) and maybe the sire and dam that produced it. They should also supply feeding and weight records that tell show you how much the snake has been eating. This paperwork is sometime helpful for resale, but it is only as good as the person behind it who sold you the animal.
