Congratulations... I'd say you have something going on here... I hatched a similar-looking animal in 2006:

The female was also normal appearing... in my case, a straight breeding of pastel x normal... now obviously there is something going on with the female... I've named the dark looking female "Espresso" and the cross an "Espresso Pastel". In fact, the cross likely should of been called Espresso Pewter. This year I line bred this female and got what appears to be 7 normal looking babies, to my great disappointment. I was expecting a patternless animal. Perhaps I missed on the odds? I'm not sure... the pewter looking female I produced in 2006 is a bad eater and not yet ready to breed and I doubt it will be breed for the 2009 - 2010 season... I suspect they are cinnamon type animals that just appear to be normal looking. Work on that project and keep us posted, I would not be surprised you'd eventually get patternless animals from that line. Hope that pewter looking animal is a male... good luck!

Regards,
Bristen.

>>Supposed normal female to mojave male with pastel male back up throws this?

>>Ended up with four egg clutch: two slugs, one never developed veins, and ONE fertile egg. I was expecting my luck to bring me a normal male as usual.... but then this pops out! Could it be that my 'normal' that I've had for years (though this is her first clutch) is actually a cinnamon? I bought her from a pet store for 25 bucks as a normal.
