Here is a post I just made on the Herald Tribune website in response to the article "Land of the reptiles":
Obviously, whoever wrote this story is very uninformed of scientific facts concerning the keeping of reptiles as pets, so it must have been written by a Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) or People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) mole. I'll leave the investigation of the harmless nature of most reptiles to the reader, because much of this information is readily available on the internet.
What is not readily available on the internet is the dark side of HSUS and PETA. For those who would like to know more about what HSUS and PETA are hiding from you (anyone who has ever donated their money or their time to either of these two organizations should not visit these links because it may be quite upsetting to learn where your money and effort is going):
The Dark Side of HSUS (http://activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/oid/136)
The Dark Side of PETA (http://activistcash.com/organization_overview.cfm/oid/21)
PETA Kills Animals (http://www.petakillsanimals.com/)
For those of you that think HSUS and PETA only want to ban exotic pets, think again! They want to ban your dogs and cats as well. In fact, they want to ban the use of all animals, including assistance animals for the deaf and blind, farming and fishing, horse racing, animals used in film, and even drinking milk and eating meat.
What do you think now? Do you trust these people to be truthful to you?
