Using that poor little girl's death to promote the propaganda is perhaps the most disgraceful aspect of all of this. Even assuming the mother's scumbag boyfriend (who has since been charge with dealing cocaine) didn't kill the girl and "frame" the python, the statistics don't lie, they actually show that pythons present virtually no risk to the public or to "the children." The statistics show that:



- Python owners are actually doing a good job with safety

- Pythons are just not the dangerous, evil monsters they are portrayed to be by the propaganda machine



Even the HSUS report on fatalities shows that only 2 or 3 children have been killed by large constrictors, and only a dozen or so total humans have been killed OVER THE LAST 29 YEARS.

NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THESE CASES INVOLVED A PYTHON THAT HAD ESCAPED OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.



According to one website, 438 children died from being

left in a hot car BETWEEN 1998 and 2009.



According to the National Weather Service, lighting strikes kill 58 people EVERY YEAR (and many of those are in Florida).



According to the CDC, 500 or so people die from carbon monoxide poisoning.



Dog's kill at least a dozen or so and seriously injure thousands of people EVERY YEAR.



According to the CDC, foodborne diseases cause 5,000 death PER YEAR, with salmonella leading the way.



EVERY YEAR hundreds of human bicyclists die from head injuries that could have been prevented had the person been wearing a helmet.



EVERY YEAR dozens of children are abused/killed by their own parents.



According to the CDC, "Half of the 306 child passengers ages 14 and younger who died in alcohol-related crashes in 2006 were riding with drivers who had a BAC level of .08 or higher."



According to the Bureau of Justice, "About 1 million violent crimes occurred in 2002 in which victims perceived the offender to have been drinking at the time of the offense. Among those victims who provided information about the offender's use of alcohol, about 30% of the victimizations involved an offender who had been drinking.



Two-thirds of victims who suffered violence by an intimate (a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend) reported that alcohol had been a factor. Among spouse victims, 3 out of 4 incidents were reported to have involved an offender who had been drinking. By contrast, an estimated 31% of stranger victimizations where the victim could determine the absence or presence of alcohol were perceived to be alcohol-related. "









Where is the outcry to ban bikes, dogs, parents, going outside and staying inside (that's a dilemma), cars, alcohol, eating lettuce, going to petting farms, etc.??
