Posted by: Jeff Clark at Mon Aug 17 01:16:42 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Jeff Clark ] Sunday morning at 2:30 I found Pastaza a large Peruvian Rainbow Epicrates cenchria gaigei, delivering her litter of babies. There were 10 live babies, 4 stillborn and 10 slugs. Pastaza is 11 years old and this is her first litter. I got her from Burgandy Reptiles in 1998. The PIC of her below is from a couple years ago. Pastaza has not looked right the last few months. I knew she was gravid but she looked like she was carrying a big load of slugs and would have trouble delivering them. Pastaza's sister died while gravid with a big load of babies a couple years ago. Pastaza and the babies are doing fine. The father of the litter is Leemo. He is around 7 years old and came from Larry Kenton. Both Pastaza and Leemo have 41 scale rows at midbody. I will post PICs of babies later. [ Hide Replies ]
