The Ultramel is a recessive base mutation. I appears that it may be the same thing as the Paragon or Crider Caramel (although it is not a Caramel at all). We won't know for sure if they are the same morph until the different lines are bred together.

The Ultramels produced so far appear to be very robust, and don't seem to have any of the kinking issues that the Caramels have. The other thing I like about them is that they age very well - the photos I've seen of adults are amazing.
