With this type of manufactured cable, you should not cut it, as it may be ruined in the process, not to mention the safety issue.
From a purely technical answer to your question, one would have to cut open the end termination to view the electrical termination of the cable to see if it is parallel-wired or series-wired. Then the cable could be cut and terminated the same way. And sealed. With nichrome wire, this isn't always as easy as it seems. That is why I suggest you run the extra cable out from the rack and use it to heat another cage perhaps or something like that (in other words, don't cut it.) ----- Mark
