In the gradual selling off of what was once a 200+ collection of breeders 2.2 thayeri do remain. 1.1 is a pair of vivid's f1 retro or earth toned animals the male it the orangish leonis pictured.



The other pair is a female that remains from my old line and is an applegate/sipperly/lemkey derivative. She too is pictured. When I moved out the lion share of my thayeri Howie Sherman picked out a female derivative and a nice yellow leonis that I'd acquired from Bob Johnson. I realy know nothing of the lineage of these but Bob knows the natural history of mexicana, maintains a collection of all locality animals (save thayeri) and takes absolute awesome care of his animals and customers. These two bred for howie and I got the pick of the litter male who balances out my 2.2 breeders.



Most years I cross the female vivid to the 50% Bob Johnson male and the vivid male to the green female from my line.



I'm also rearing up a pair of 08. Last year I acquired a trio of thayeri from Russ Bates. My vivids were crossed to these and I retained a single pair one from each clutch. The third pic I don not believe is one of the actual hold backs but one went to another forum member. I thought both a bit atypical but they were too pretty not to retain at least one. As a yearlying the female I kept has retained this exact color.
