This girl was born in captivity to a female captured gravid in the wild.
Got her at the beginning of this year from a guy who had to sell his collection due to his commitment to the armed services. I named her Lily because her reverse tail stripe reminds me of a Calla Lily  And also to keep with the flower theme of my female Guyanese BCC.
She's going to be paired up for the first time, this season. Hoping she's ready to rock! She's certainly got the mature muscle mass we all like to see!
She was looking "average". She doesn't really have a MORE spectacular phase where she just BLOWS OUT her lateral colors, but she does have a darker phase where she's a little muddy (but nothing like she was when I got her - those were obviously stressful times for her). I say today was an average day for her because usually, she looks like this most of the time.
I'm going to pair her with Mr. Incredible.
He's the sire to my '08 Rose litter. The reason I chose him is because Rose's '08 litter had laddertails in it.
Yet her '07 litter did not. She was the constant, the sire was the variable. That leads me to believe he's got something going on. I've frequently seen laddertails in litters with reverse stripes, so I'm thinking the two are somehow linked.
I figure this pairing will answer that for me and it could end up to be a very important litter. Even if I don't get any laddertails or reverse stripes, as long as I get at least some babies, they should be nice and clean with great patterns and tails! And F1 of wild blood too. (I consider born in captivity from WC gravid females to be "wild blood" .
