Its not unusual for a prolapsed hemipenis to retract normally after a few hours. Its when it hangs out for a long time, especially where it can dry out or get damaged, or loose substrate can stick to it and get drawn into the body cavity.

CHeck your snake's vent area, especially after defecation to see if anything hangs out, signs of bleeding or swelling. Soaking could help to keep your snake hydrated and flush any foreign material in the vent area. If the prolapse occurs again, a luke warm bath to clean off any debris and clean the cage and use just paper towel (slightly dampened) till it retracts again or more than 24 hours go by without it going in naturally. Then get it to a vet asap.
