It has been long overdue, but these are the 'best' shots I have gotten this past summer. Almost all of the locations are in Watauga County, North Carolina, off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Well, these are not from the summer, but they are Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica) eggs.
An adult R. sylvatica that I found that night.
A melanistic dusky salamander, maybe something from Desmognathus ochrophaeus?
Another Mountain Dusky, from Wilson's Creek. There are a bunch of these guys with a light coloration on their heads.
One of my favorite sallies to find, Jordan's Salamander (Plethodon jordani)
I have also found some Yonahlossee Salamanders (P. yonahlossee), but have not photographed them yet...
A Seal Salamander (Desmognathus monticola). This one was found within a mile from my school's campus. I love this town.

Most definitely my favorite catch of the summer, Eurycea longicauda, the Long-tailed Salamander.
Cold Prong Pond. Great place to see just about everything.

A Red Salamander (Pseudotriton ruber) I caught and kept. It recently metamorphosed and has been doing really well.
I also have a Spring Salamander larvae from the same night, but he may have another year left on him until it becomes an adult.
Sorry for the huge pictures... I have not worked out the kinks in this new photo hosting site yet.
So far, all of my close friends keep begging me to go herping now that I have found them these cool little guys everytime!
