It was sired by a pyro from Applegate himself bred to a female het from Howie Sherman. No knob blood in the mix. I'm not sure how common it is in northern populations, but I remember someone in CA was selectivly breeding for that trait from Chiricahua founders. I think they may have been from Cave Creek too...
