...maybe not dark, but there is something about it that's wierd to me. I think it's that as boy I got familiar with the natural history, range and relationships of NA colubrids (almost all by reading) so that I understood a context for each species. I don't have that for the old world. As with this Diadem, I was told it came from Egyptian stock but I really don't have context for it in terms of what other species it is most closely allied so it just kind of "floating in space"...hope that makes sense. I guess my challenge now is to learn more about the "dark side" and what all lurks there
