Feeding hatchlings

Google failed me and I've looked several forums but can't find details. I have baby lesser hatched on 8-16-09. I was told to wait until after his first shed (which was 8-27-09)to offer him food. I've offered him live ASF pinkies or fuzzies about every other day since his shed and nothing. My question is how long can a hatchling refuse before I need to intervene?

I have 11 other balls and have been taking care of them for the last 7 years but this is my first hatchling. If anyone knows of any websites or forums with info please let me know.
