Well...with a smile on my face I offer three small observations that may help, timing, feel and observation. Timing, learn about how long it is for their input/output cycle. Of course this varies with size, frequency of feeding and temps. Feel, especially in animals under 8 feet you can feel when solids and fluids are on deck, proceed with caution. Observation, watch for body language, if you see the snake stretch out, move it's tail, or contractions in the lower third, find a safe place for it to take care of business.
Two other items to consider. Murphy's Law is always in effect. Carpets and pythons are not the best combination.
