New BP owner...a couple questions

I got my ball python at a local reptile expo last Sunday. He’s about two months old. I noticed that he had a small dent in one of his eyes on Sunday evening. After filling his water bowl with water, I saw him drink quite a bit from it. Since then, I’ve seen him drink on a couple more occasions. The dent in his eye now seems to be gone. Is it normal for ball pythons to drink so often?

Also, since then, I’ve seen him yawn about five times. I thought snakes only yawn after eating. I read on another forum that yawning can be a symptom of respiratory infections, which has me worried, although I’m probably overreacting. He seems very healthy - active, alert, clean eyes, clean nostrils. Should I be concerned about the yawning?
