I'd like to first welcome you to the hobby! It sounds like you're a responsible snake owner.

The dents in the eyes can be a sign of dehydration. That would explain the drinking. Animals drink when they are thirsty.

The yawning is normal too. When they have RI, they gape their mouth for a long time and wheeze. Sometimes they just yawn!
