Thanks for your input, Randall. That's pretty much what I've been considering - a way to incorporate both. I've not thought about using directional; that's a plausible idea to me.



Having fluorescents & incandescents on separate switches would allow for some finagling during photos as well as energy conserving. Though I've got the space to do so, I don't want to build a separate room or section for photographing.





"I just use a point and shoot camera so the light source makes a big difference for me."



If I can return the help - Remember K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid. Ha! Ha! (I'm not calling you "stupid," it's just an old phrase) I bought a fancy DSLR camera over a year ago and still haven't figured out how to do everything it's capable of.
