I'm not convinced that motley and salmon are alleles. They could be closely linked, with all the hypo motleys having a normal gene and a motley gene on one chromosome and a hypo gene and a normal gene on the other chromosome in the chromosome pair.



I agree that there have not been enough matings yet. IMO, the jury is still out until there are at least 200 babies from hypo motley X normal matings. Normal and hypo motley babies would be the crossover types.
