I keep the ambient temp in my racks at about 76 degrees F. Warm end at about 90 F. I do have a couple of balls that seem to enjoy "chilling" out once and a while.
Inevitably, you will have to test what works for you. It all depends on how efficient your heating system is, your substrate type and depth, and even the preferences of your BP. My general rule is to always keep a warm spot of at least 87 F (unless brumating) in case a minor RI starts to set in. This way the snake can at least do a little behavioral fever to fend off the illness. ----- Lincoln, NE
