... this is my first year of continuous breeding (have been going since December) I have 12 girls between ovulation and laying as of today. I have locks every day, And now that I have made thru the hot summer months it should be back to usual.
If a male gets a little thin from going off food, I move them out of breeding room and out of rotation until they are back on food and gain some weight. Most of my males eat pretty well right thru breeding season. I don't let temps get below 77-78 degrees which might help.
It has worked out well so far. 2 of my better yearling project males did not start breeding until July. They are ROCKING the girls now and I anticipate some of my most exciting hatchlings in Dec. Jan. and Feb.!!!! ----- Bill Buchman
