As funny as it sounds, I had to do that same thing for a stubborn Honduran of all things a few years back..LOL!
That sucker just WOULD NOT accept any mouse offerings at all, no matter what tricks I pulled. So one day I went ahead and offered it an anole and it bashed it,...so I did this one or two more times to give it a bit more weight that it lost from being so stubborn all that time, then one or two scented after that, then unscented from that day on.
Ya know what's really weird, is that I have a young adult that is still real particular to "brained" mice, even at 2 years of age..LOL!
