Another of those burly Montana bulls. What’s the largest you’ve found out there?



It was my second time in CR. There are a lot of places with large herp populations, but what really amazes me about CR is that each one I found seemed to be of a different species.



As info for all you guys – the round trip was about $600 from Seattle. We stayed in a sweet place called Pacific Edge with a pool, bird watching platforms and whatnot for $50/night. There are also some cheaper places for $25-30/night that are just 2 beds and a bathroom that I’d stay in if traveling with a buddy; though you’ll probably want to spend the $50 if taking family.



The rainy season has started down there, and continues though around the end of November. Places are usually cheaper during this time of year. Herps are pretty active year round; though finding snakes is a little easier to find when it’s sunny.
