Has the extreme trait been pinned down yet? Do they randomly show up when you breed hypo x hypo? Do they only exist in specific lines? Is it just a selectively bred hypo? It's been a few years since i've been into milks and I would really appreciate some insight on the subject.
The extreme gene still isn't really understood, all anyone really knows is that you have a better chance of producing them if you start with hypo parents either from an extreme clutch, or are extremes themselves. And even THEN it is no guarantee, and very unlikely that all the offspring will be extremes.
I just bred an extreme x extreme this year, and produced about half extremes, and the other half were very exceptional hypos of different types, pin-banded, vanished, etc...
All were VERY high quality light hypo's, but not all were what I would call extreme.
In any given clutch, there can be varying shades of hypo anywhere between a 1 or a 10, and anything in between.
