If the female has been fed very well up to this point, and is very stocky with good weight to her, I wouldn't see too much problem there, but if she is on the thinner side, I would wait another year as Herman suggested. Especially since these subspecies will have to be brumated as opposed to many other ratsnakes from more southerly areas. This would mean if she's not very heavy now, she certainly won't be later on when taken out of brumation.



Stuff like cornsnakes and some others can basically be fed throughout the season, and still successfully breed, but Russians being from a much different environment wouldn't have that luxury.
