>>Hi John,
>> I'm going to be radical this year, and let the temperature in my snakeroom fall into the 60's on its own, and keep the heat tape on them. Then I will put them together in late Feb-March and see what happens. This might not be cold enough for them. Anybody want to jump in with advice, I'm all ears, so to speak.
I wish I could do that....Down here in South Texas the temps seldom drop below 60F in the winter so I have to artificially drop the temps with an air conditioner dedicated for brumation....
And it may be benificial to keep a "hot spot" during the winter if you want to feed some...I know many Getula keepers that do this with great success....Another radical idea is to pair them up through brumation as not to miss a window of opportunity.....I would only do this with a pair you trust and equal in size as not to lose a snake... ----- John Lassiter
Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...
