Mark - thanks for the response. The racks I have now I made with melamine shelving as you suggest; they work great. The Lowe's nearby does not carry pre-cut melamine shelving, only precut mdf hence my question regarding using mdf instead of melamine; I do not have a circular or table saw to cut the large pieces of melamine into appropriate shelf sizes. I would prefer the melamine shelves, but I'm looking for an alternative that would avoid cutting.



Thanks again, I may just have to go visiting some additional Lowe's and Home Depot's in other towns and see what I can find.
